StealthWriter AI Features, Alternatives and Review: Can This AI Humanizer Really Pass Turnitin?

Key Takeaway: In this StealthWriter review, we found StealthWriter to be a budget-friendly AI humanizer that produces text that passes basic detectors. However, the performance reduces when tested against Turnitin and ChatGPTZero, has limited customization, and produces output that sometimes needs a second editing to make it strong for high-stakes academic submissions.

  • StealthWriter offers the Ghost 4.6 model for rewriting and humanizing text on the free plan with a limit, but unlimited access on the basic and premium plans
  • In testing, humanized samples from StealthWriter AI humanizer score 80%+ in both medium and advanced detection tools like ChatGPTZero and Turnitin; it’s not perfect, but good enough
  • The free plan is capped at 1,000 words per input. Users also get 10,000 per day, with access to the Ghost 4.6 and Ghost 5.1 models.
  • Paid plans start at $20/month for basic and $50/month for premium. The plan comes with unlimited access and beta features.
  • Output is solid but may sometimes need another review before it can meet professional or academic standards
  • Walter Writes AI is the superior choice for work that requires high-level accuracy. That’s because of its reported 98%+ bypass rate, compared to StealthWriter 70%

In this review, we’ll test the capabilities of the StealthWriter AI humanizer tool. The tool claims it can make AI-generated content sound natural and human. With more students, businesses, and professionals relying on AI, the need for accuracy and integrity is at an all-time high. The need to get content past detectors is rising as well. StealthWriter positions itself as an affordable, easy-to-use solution for AI humanization and detection bypass. But how well does it perform, compared to capable competitors like Walter Writes AI?

What Is StealthWriter? An AI Humanizer for Undetectable Content

StealthWriter claims to be an AI humanizer that can turn ChatChatGPT or Gemini-produced content into text that reads as if it is human-written. The tool is designed for users who use AI to generate their content but who want to bypass AI detection systems. This includes students writing essays, marketers generating blog content, and professionals needing natural-sounding writing.

The strength of the platform lies in its ability to offer users flexibility based on budgets. There are various plans to fit different budget categories and models suitable for a diverse set of users. Aside from the affordability, the platform also promises simplicity and effectiveness. More importantly, the goal is one: avoid detection while sounding genuinely human, even if your content is AI-generated. Our test is to see how it does well on that.

How to Use StealthWriter AI

Step 1: If you decide to use the tool, you need to use the right model. StealthWriter recommends Claude models (Anthropic). You don’t need that if you wrote your draft. In other words, use high-quality input if you want better humanization.

Step 2: Remove all markdown formatting before pasting the content into the rewrite box.

Step 3: Choose a level from light, balanced, or heavy. Don’t use the max intensity on your first pass to preserve the meaning of your text. Only go a level higher if

Step 4: Revise the output. If the content reads awkwardly, let the tool rewrite.

Step 5: Run the built-in detector and check the score. If it passes detection, you’re done. If it’s rejected, re-humanize until you get a copy that passes detection.

Step 6: Cross-check externally by using another detector for comparison. It’s always recommended to use multiple tools when revising.

How We Tested StealthWriter AI Detector Capabilities

To evaluate StealthWriter’s effectiveness, we ran a series of controlled tests using well-known AI detection tools. Here’s how we approached it:

  1. Input Source: We used raw text generated by ChatGPT-4 on typical academic and blog-style prompts.
  2. StealthWriter Processing: Each sample was processed through StealthWriter using both the ”Ghost 4.6” and “Ghost 5.1” modes.
  3. AI Detection Tools Used:
  • Turnitin
  • ChatGPTZero
  • Originality.ai
  1. Metrics Measured:
  • Human score (% likelihood a human wrote it)
  • Readability and coherence
  • Grammar and tone shifts
  • Consistency in detection results across tools

The results of our test show that StealthWriter holds its own when tested against basic and advanced detection tools. It performed excellently with Originality.ai, ChatGPTZero, and other advanced tools. Most importantly, the accuracy is consistent, which shows reliability.

The reliability of producing human-like content and superior-quality output means it can be used for both light content creation and academic use. Not only does it make it suitable for students, but professionals and casual users can also benefit from the tool.

While it provides a robust solution for humanization and AI detection, depending on a single tool may be risky. That’s why it’s important to supplement with tools like Walter Writes AI (for humanization and detection in one editor) or Caktus AI. The Caktus AI review covers the tool’s drafting strengths and weaknesses in-depth if you want to learn more.

How We Tested StealthWriter AI Detector

To evaluate the performance of the StealthWriter AI detector, we put it through a proprietary test. In this test, we gathered both AI-generated and human-written content in different disciplines. To prove it’s capable and reliable, the tool must be able to identify and distinguish between human and AI content. This is our process:

  • We used three samples: an essay, a LinkedIn-style post, and creative writing content.
  • Each sample is either human or AI-generated
  • We employed a popular LLM for creating the AI-generated samples
  • The samples are the same we have used for other AI detectors
  • We used the StealthWriter AI detector to scan each sample
  • We screenshot the result of each scan

This structure helps us control the process to get unbiased results.

Test Samples Used for the StealthWrite AI Detector Review

We used 6 samples (2 per set):

Test Sample: AI-Generated Essay vs Human-Written Essay

Test Sample: AI-Generated Creative Writing vs Human-Written Creative Writing

Test Sample: AI-Generated LinkedIn Post vs Human-Written LinkedIn Post

What These Results Mean (Our Observations)

Accuracy on AI Content

  • We used a sample of 350+ words of AI-generated creative writing and a sample of 2000+ human-produced creative writing. Both were perfectly detected at 100% and 86%, respectively. Both AI-generated and human-written essays and LinkedIn posts also come at different word counts. They are equally detected accurately. Where it falls short is in identifying the mixed article.

Not only did the tool accurately identify AI content, but it also identified human content. However, it may struggle to pick up AI content that has been humanized.

False Positive Rate

The false positive rate is very low, meaning that the StealthWriter AI detector can detect both AI and human-written content. Any tool that can detect AI-generated content with 100% accuracy is excellent. Although the brand claimed 99.8%, our experiment (100% detection) shows that it meets industry standards. It also wasn’t affected by content diversity or length. When you’re using the detector, you need to select version 2, which was recently released. It is more accurate than the previous version.

Consistency

The results are stable across different subjects of academic and marketing writing. It performs excellently well with AI-content, flagging them accurately 100% on average. It also detected human-written content 90% on average, which is very good for a detector. This means it’s reliable for academic works and otherwise.

Notable Patterns

  • The detector consistently identifies both AI-generated content and human-written content
  • All AI samples are flagged at 100%, showing high accuracy and reliability
  • The tool can distinguish authentic human writing from AI content
  • The length of the content doesn’t influence the detection

Where StealthWriter AI Detector Is Reliable

  • Can be used for detecting AI-likeness in general-purpose/marketing and academic settings
  • It can be used for both surface-level screening and deep review of drafts
  • Can be used for both content produced by humans and AI

Where It Fails

  • It doesn’t seem to perform well with mixed content (where an AI article is human paraphrased
  • While it detects AI content perfectly, the effectiveness reduces as the content is edited and rewritten

Same Samples, Same Rules

The samples selected were essays, social media posts, and creative writing. We also added a mixed content type: an AI-generated how-to article that is paraphrased. The length and format remain the same, with no edits in between tests.

Final Verdict: Stealthwriter vs Walter Writes

Winner: WalterWrites

Final Verdict – Is StealthWriter Worth It?

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly tool that helps AI-generated text sound more natural, StealthWriter is a solid entry-level option. It’s fast, affordable, and simple to use—great for students and casual users. Frequently Asked Questions About StealthWriter

Can Turnitin detect StealthWriter?

Sometimes. Turnitin has a very sophisticated algorithm that is regularly updated. Users have also reported mixed success, which shows that no tool can guarantee a clean result every time. For academic submissions where detection is a serious concern, a more advanced tool such as Walter Writes AI offers stronger and more consistent bypass performance.

Is StealthWriter AI detectable?

Yes, it can be. While it tries to reduce the footprint, it doesn’t always produce content that’ll pass. Running the content through a detector before use is a good step to add to your workflow.

Does StealthWriter have a Chrome Extension?

As of the time of writing this, there are currently no Chrome extensions for StealthWriter. We’ll update this if it becomes available.

Is StealthWriter free to use?

Yes. With the free plan, you’ll be able to use both Ghost 4.6 and 5.1 models. Both have a 1,000-word limit per input and a 10,000-word daily cap. StealthWriter recommends the latest model, which is Ghost 5.1. It’s enough to test the tool and handle light use. But it doesn’t come with priority support, and no guarantee it will pass all major AI detectors. For better results, a paid plan is recommended.

How to get StealthWriter for free?

There is no need to circumvent the paid plans. There is something for everyone. The quickest way is to sign up for an account. This doesn’t require using a credit card. The free plan gives you access to all the Ghost models. You’ll have a 1,000-word limit per input, and you can try 10x daily. You’ll either need to upgrade to access extra features or watch out for promotional discounts from StealthWriter. These are not often available, by the way.

What languages does it support?

StealthWriter currently supports English (across different LLMs), Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, and more, making it usable by international audiences.

What is the Ghost Model in StealthWriter?

Ghost 4.6 is StealthWriter’s legacy model, while Ghost 5.1 is a newer model with better grammar, structure, and readability. Both are included in the free plan, but the content may not pass major AI detectors. For users whose primary goal is passing AI detectors, the paid plans may be worth it.

QuillBot vs StealthWriter: What’s the Difference?

QuillBot and StealthWriter are similar in that they are both rewriting tools. However, their purposes differ slightly. QuillBot is a general-purpose paraphrasing tool to rewrite sentences and fix grammar. You can also use it to summarize content. It’s not designed to produce content that can pass ChatGPTZero or Turnitin. That is why paraphrased content from the tool can be flagged due to the presence of AI-generated patterns. However, StealthWriter is purposely built for passing AI detection tools. Both the Ghost 4.6 and Ghost 5.1 are specifically designed to remove machine-like patterns most detectors scout for. The goal is to paraphrase the content as naturally as possible.
